Privacy policy

1. Who we are

PatchArc is operated by Fahid Digital Ventures LLC ("we"). This policy covers the PatchArc command-line tool, the hosted service at patcharc.dev, and this website. Privacy questions and requests: privacy@patcharc.dev.

2. The tool, on your machine

The command-line tool records commits, the files they touched, and the notes, decisions, and risks you enter, into a local database inside your repository. It produces capsules in the same directory. It makes no network requests and sends no telemetry, except when you explicitly sign in or share. Deleting the tool's directory in a repository removes everything it recorded there.

3. The service, after you share

When you sign in and share a capsule, we store:

• Account data: the email address and display name provided by your identity provider, and a record of the devices you signed in from.
• Capsules you upload: the sealed capsule file and the derived data needed to serve it as a link.
• Share metadata: link identifiers, visibility, expiry, and an audit log of creation, changes, and revocation.
• Operational logs: request metadata such as timestamps, IP address, and status codes, kept for a limited period for security and reliability.

We do not receive anything from repositories you have not shared a capsule from.

4. Provider keys

If you register a third-party AI provider key for bring-your-own-key features, it is encrypted before storage and is never returned by any interface. Revoking the connection removes it from use.

5. What we do not do

• We do not use your code, capsules, or notes to train machine-learning models, and we do not permit our providers to.
• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not place advertising or analytics cookies on this website.

6. Sharing with others

Content you publish as a public or capability link is visible to anyone with the link. We share data with service providers who host and operate the service on our behalf, under contracts that restrict their use of it, and when required by law.

7. Retention and deletion

Capsules and shares are kept until you delete them or your account. You can delete a capsule, its derived data, and its links in one action, and you can ask us to delete your account and all associated data by writing to privacy@patcharc.dev. Operational logs are retained for a limited period and then discarded.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at the address above; we will respond within the time the applicable law requires.

9. Changes
