Software license

1. Grant

Subject to these terms, Fahid Digital Ventures LLC ("we") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the PatchArc command-line tool (the "Software") on machines you control, for the purpose of recording, reviewing, sealing, verifying, and sharing records of code changes. Use under the Community plan is free of charge. Paid plans add hosted features and are governed by the Terms of Service and the applicable order.

2. Your capsules are yours

Capsules (.parc files) that the Software produces from your repositories are your data. You may store, copy, move, open, verify, and share them without restriction and without our involvement. The capsule format is documented so that a capsule can be read and verified with the Software at any time, and nothing in a capsule depends on the hosted service.

3. Restrictions

You may not:

• sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the Software or offer it as a service to third parties;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits;
• remove or alter proprietary notices in the Software;
• use the Software to build a competing product that replicates its functionality;
• circumvent any licensing, plan, or usage limits.

4. Ownership

The Software, the PatchArc name and marks, and all associated intellectual property are owned by Fahid Digital Ventures LLC. This license does not transfer any ownership to you. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation.

5. Third-party components

The Software includes open-source components from third parties under their own licenses. Their notices are included with the Software distribution. Those licenses apply to those components only.

6. Updates and term

We may release updates and may change these license terms for future versions; the terms that ship with a version apply to that version. This license continues until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it; on termination you must stop using the Software, but capsules you have created remain yours.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fahid Digital Ventures LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Software, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve months before the claim.
